Mid Finals Week (vol. XXXVII)

Why do I try? WHY DO I EVEN TRY?!? Guys, Gals, does it even matter any more? Let me stop you right there, Matt and Isaac, before you even think about scrolling down to tell me to keep the blog, just stop yourselves. I don't need to hear it from you, like I do every week. I should really just stop typing and get to what this blog is all about nowadays, anyways, paraphrase, stargaze. felt like rhyming.
I have this strong urge to let this blog go. Partially because if I don't have a blog, you can't bug me to blog. So there's no more pressure. But, if on some lazy Sunday, I'm wearing sweatpants and have a brainful of ideas, I might want a place to put those ideas. I may have already tweeted those ideas but still.
I'm just going to let this blog be and if something happens with it, then something happens. It may become a dormant volcanoblog, or possibly in the future a luscious spring of blog-goodness. This doesn't depend on me anymore. This is is the bloggods' hands. The gods of blogs' hands. Well, we shall see what this becomes, And now we play the waiting game...

Hey it's not Wednesday but I'm bloggin' which is what you guys are whining about geez. Can't we just drop this thing already and stop pretending like we still want to blog? Tha Game Has Changed. It's all about the Twitter right now. that's pretty obviously. Bloggin' feels so two thousand and late. but since I'm here...

k so the ames taco bell is closing. yes. Isaac if you haven't already heard this I'm sorry you had to hear it this way. yea it's closing But will be moving to duff and reopening next summer. which is so stupid. really TBell? why? being so close to campus? it's like a go-to. and i love me some tbell. in the past i kinda had a preference towards taco johns. but this summer taco bell really stepped their game up. taco johns can kiss my beefy 5 layer burrito
This summer Taco Bell introduced the 2 Dollar Meal Deal, which I will abbreviate to 2DMD. pretty sweet right? and it WAS a deal! You could get a 5 layer burrito, a double decker taco, a chalupa, or a chicken burrito combo, which includes a drink and a bag of Doritos! for $2.14 WITH TAX! BYAH!
great deal. great great deal. as Matt and Isaac can attest, it was the summer of our 2010. family guy and 2DMD in Matt's aunt and uncle's basement. a classic.
nother classic: 5 buck box. Charles Barkley thinks this is not trbl. this might've come out in the spring. or during the Superbowl? idk but it was a lot of food for one piece of paper (plus 7% sales tax)

and now... since TB is closing... i can't have these classics. and what will really piss me off is watching TB commercials on tv and not being able to get them. that will really grind my gears. speaking of grinding gears...

yea, i know this is a really shitty picture of baja blast but really google it. not very good. soo baja blast. the best mountain dew alive. only available at taco bell. smart marketing huh? well you would think if a place has a highly touted product that is only available at their location, they would keep plenty of it. supply in demand right? wrong says taco bell. we don't know how to manage a business. they deserve to close for this stupid lack of ordering inventory. sorry tb i didn't mean that. don't close. but seriously, have it in stock jesus. it's the go-to drink at taco bell and every frickin time i go, they are out. i have to settle for raspberry brisk iced tea, which is another fave, but i want the baja blast. i get so angry that they run out so quickly. they really need to do something about it before i do something about it.

Mid Week (vol. XXXV)

What is the point? What is the point anymore! Why do I do this? Why are we bloggin'? We hardly get on anymore, its getting annoying to try to blog. And you know, I thought I knew why I wasn't bloggin' All of my classes were design studios.  nothing but work. But i had a class that started mid semester. I feel like my studio work contributed to the lack of the blog topics. I only was thinking about my design work. nothing interesting enough worth bloggin' about. but this new class is pretty interesting. its a class on diversity, and it's kind of weird. we do things to interact with others and it seems like elementary school. but it has given me material to tweet about. i could convert that into blog topics, but it obviously takes more time. and as for you guys not bloggin' there's my excuse, what is yours.
in depressing news, i registered for spring classes. all 8am classes for the second semester in a row. Monday through Friday. fml. damn you graphic design.

Well folks, i think I've decided on the new name change, it's just gonna be mid week. not weak. just week. because it makes sense.
and i don't really care about bloggin' except for Wednesdays right now. i feel like this is an obligation but anything else is just me going out of my way. maybe just weekly bloggin? i haven't had any blogthoughts, if i may, or blogdeas if you will, or things to blog about. goshdarnit. still its called mid weak. still its way late. its Thursday. i mean Thursday ain't mid week either way you look at it. but anywho I'm here, I'm quee- i mean i'm bloggin' get used to it.
I'm not gonna wow... wow anybody here but where are the blogs? have we just given up? i don't know whats going on but i haven't cared at all about bloggin' the only time is me trying to say I'm gonna post on Wednesday. like really this is all I've been bloggin' about, not caring about bloggin' just read the last few posts. smh.

yesterday i thought towards my self, hey you should blog. but i disagreed with my self and just watched ESPN. it's not like school has gotten in the way, but to be honest, it should. because i have these big projects coming up and I'm not really working on them. in class i know just what to do to pretend like I'm doing process work but I'm really not. i have perfected the in class procrastination so even the teachers can't tell. I'm proud. but it's not something to be proud of when you're behind on a project. late nights i guess.
so i guess i can post some videos now. believe me i have so much enthusiasm right now.

guys... i like twitter. i wish i was better at it, but, but, i really like it! just like bloggin' i just couldn't get into it at first. and then, just like peer pressure, everyone else was doing it. i also jumped off the bridge. but to quote myself, "i just joined twitter and miley cyrus is already retired." I'm paraphrasing
been trying to step my twit game up, but it's hard to keep those tweets high quality. i love reading funny quotes from celebrities and people pretending to be celebrities. it inspires me to tweet, yet sadly i have nothing to twoot about. i would just like to bring up something i found strange. yesterday my "middle week" blog got a crazy amount of page views. i don't really know why. maybe because of the videos I've posted? but other posts with videos haven't gotten this much attention? i don't know. blogger recently added a new stats tab to look at your page views for your blog and what is getting trafficked and whatnot. or whatnot.
or maybe it's not that new, i just haven't noticed it. either way i think its really cool. if you don't know, now you know.
speaking of things getting a lot of views. a new song by Justin Bieber called U Smile. have you heard it? i kinda like it. well around the interwebs someone slowed down the song. like 800% or is it %800? cuz dollar sign goes first? you know? i think its 800%
anyway it's 8 times slower. either way it sounds like some really sweet ambiance music. it's also 35 mins long. but this thing is pretty much going viral. its got like 2 million listens. Ryan seacrest tweeted it. the biebs likes it too. it sounds like an epic soundtrack to a movie or something. and your thinking Justin beaver? no way! there were rumors that is was fake. people were saying that it wasn't actually U Smile slowed down, but some other song. somebody sped up the slowed down version and what do you know? plus you can hear him sing the lyrics really slowly. but here, take a listen for yourself. if you have the time.

Middle of the Week Blog (vol. XXVIII)

It's Wednesday. for those without calendars.
I feel bad because i slept through my second class of the day. Halfway through it to be exact. I came back from my 8 am class and took a nap. as I've always said, it's dangerous. I don't remember what we were doing today, but I'm not too worried about what i missed. It was probably just a studio work day.
Well, Obviously, some people have forgotten their commitment to the world of bloggin'
lack of commitment. or lack of content. either way. wow... wow. be bloggin' that's not a suggestion, that's a demand.
Rivalry week. great times. it's fun to smack talk. but know your role. if your team is legitimately a team of convicts, no need to try to nitpick about others. they are almost as bad as the Cincinnati Bengals. yeesh. great job getting hit by a car.
well I've got some videos ready for everyone. i had to save some of these from last week. you can't have 50 videos a week. that would be ridiculous. i want to try to have at least 5 per week. i think that should fill everyone appetite for videos. off we go!

i will be honest, i haven't even thought about bloggin'
I've just been up to other stuff. like school! jeez calm down this is my life right now! SCHOOL COMES FIRST SORRY. i am a student-blogger. student before blogger. well really, in my free time i have been playing video games, watching YouTube and puppysitting liz's new pup Lucy. Her real name is lucybelle or lucibell or idk how Liz is spellin' it but Liz wanted to name her Bella. Our friend, Sarah, yes, who doesn't like Sarah? got her for Liz. Sarah thought her name should be Lucy. at the end of the day it was a combination of the two. that is after we came back at 5 in the morning picking her up from Iowa city. worth it.
anyways, just haven't gotten around to bloggin' but i have been searching for videos for my blog tomorrow. my untitled blog. featuring videos and such. untitled blog. for Wednesday.
well haven't forgotten about bloggin' just haven't cared enough about it to go outta my way to do it. even though I'm on my computer everyday for class. eh.

Before i get to the only reason you came here in the first place, the videos, let me bore you with what I did today. In my digital drawing class we are experimenting with drawing images, using ink and then scanning them into a computer and editing them in photoshop. I'm actually excited about this. we haven't gotten to the computer part yet. we were supposed to find textures to use today so we can edit them along with our drawings. I didn't have a camera but luckily you can check them out at the design building! i took really closeup images of things during class that can be used to overlay textures and backgrounds and such. but what do i know, we haven't even started it yet. i thought i snapped some pretty cool pics. snake a look

I'm trying to tweet solid tweets kind of like Mr. Chi City. but I'm not going to link his twitter because I'm a little peeved a MCC right now. BUT, i am mad because he has been away from YouTube for so long. and he made a video, he has been tweeting about it for so long. and i watched it this morning. wow #disappointing #comebackfail. you see? I'm gettin' into twitter here.

well Tuesdays are my easy days. i get done at 9:50 ...but i start at 8. this class is fun, we were supposed to bring in an electronic device to sketch in class, one that we want to create later in Adobe Illustrator. I brought my xbox 360 controller. so did four other people. others brought different types of game controllers. needless to say I'm changing my object. oh and we also have to recreate a logo. i chose Gatorade. is it in you?
later today, we will be getting some hookups via mediacom. high speed internet and digital cable, for when we get the vizio. the service guy is supposed to be here between 1 and 5. great estimation. still excited about it though.
also, i want to work on my sign offs. something to say at the end of the post that's not boring nor awkward.

I was totally meaning to be bloggin' yesterday. and i know you came here to check if i did. sorry to those people it would've been pretty nice with a clean sweep of the first week back and full on bloggin' but it's the thought that counts.
referencing the title... shaytards. if you don't know what shaytards is, then you sir or ma'am, are missing out. mam?  what a weird word. shaytard lowdown: a hilariously large bearded man with a hot wife and the cutest kids in the world. and you wanna talk about bloggin' on a regular basis? this man vlogs everyday. he records his life and everyone in his family and posts it on YouTube. he's on his second year and has almost 600,000 people who watch his videos everyday. applaud that. well i started watching him this summer, and  I've fallen in love. no homo. i want to be part of that family.  no creep. there's not one video that i can embed on here that would showcase their complete awesomeness, so i will just post the channel page and you can pick and choose what you wanna watch. SHAYTARDS
earlier this summer i started watching his vlogs from the beginning. he's got almost 600. btw that's his job now. vloggin' is his career and he makes enough from YouTube to support his wife and 4 kids. applaud that. and all of his vids are capitalized too.
anyway, Wednesday i was just thinking, on Wednesdays i post videos and fun stuff and i call it mid weak. because its the middle of the week. but if I'm not having a bad week, why is it weak? idk, I'm thinking about changing the name because to all my new readers out there, i see you,  they have no idea about mid weak. i don't even think its that creative of a name. i was thinking of something like video vednesdays. like a vampire would say it or something. but then its just videos. idk mid weak it's just not "ringing" for me anymore. and almost to the 30th installment. i want your input on this. change it? ideas? and don't just say keep it cuz that's how it's suppose to be. convince me.

as of right now, right this moment... bloggin' from Arby's. just got done shippin' out that natch machine. and by "natch" i mean nacho. i figured some of you might not pick up on "nach machine" or thought i just misspelled. misspelled, ironically, is one of the most commonly misspelled words. fun fact
well it's mid weak, and still at arby's but i'm not going to be able to finish the blog here. i will resume later tonight, however, you reading this, will not know the time lag between the vag, i mean the beginning of the post.

we couldn't find a box to fit this thing because of its weirdo dimensions. but we went to lowe's and found a washer box that would work. we had to cut down the sides to make flaps and after loading it, wrapping the machine in bubble wrap and gingerly sprinkling a handful of packing peanuts, we taped that up and shipped it out. get money get paid.

So second day of class, and already I feel like this blog will be better than yesterdays. I mean come on, reread that. It just a collection of words and ideas. This post is waay better. Let me fill you up on today.
I had my second day of classes. class at 8am. everyday. FML. actually, fml. not uppercase because it's not all that bad. know why? because my tuesday class is a tutorial about photoshop and adobe illustrator. which i know about already, thanks mrs. goodwin. I consider myself semi-pro at photoshop. there are still things to learn

there are five guys in this class. me and four other dudes. oh, and hot chicks. this class will be nice.
also some good news, i will be the new assistant manager  at the theater. get to wear a jacket, suit, and tie. maybe i'll bust out the sweater vest too. but, i have to learn everything first.
speaking of the theater, matt and i, who are now roommates livin' in this sweet sweet pad, got a nacho warmer from the theater. we couldn't fit it in our apartment kitchen, so we put it up for auction on ebay. it sold for $249.99. now we just have to ship it to Baltimore, MD. get money. get paid.
I also found some videos that will be featured tomorrow, on the next installment of midweak. yes its back. cuz i'm back. we're all back. back in business. and business is booming. and boom goes the dynamite.

I knew there would be no summer bloggin' but nooo Matt and Isaac said they would be all over the internets this summer. Yea, I'll be bloggin' this summer, yea, I'll blog over EFRT. Where were the EFRT blogs? nowhere. cuz I was right.

So let me fill you in on a few things that have happened this summer...

• Our old pal Guerdwich Montimere... turns out he was lying! Lol! He was pretending to be a 16 year old kid! Once that got out his old girlfriend charged him with sexual assault. don't be rapin'

• This morning, first day of classes, my car stereo gets stolen. yup. great. awesome.

As you can probably tell, we are a little rusty from a summer off from bloggin' Hopefully after getting back into the swing of things, we can produce some high quality content for the masses. By we i mean you other bloggers who took the summer off.

so... umm... what the heck is the post about? ok so here is the deal, if you are from south florida, you may have heard of guerdwich montimere. he played prep basketball at dillard high school in fort lauderdale, and was an mcdonald's all american. he graduated in 2007.
if you are from odessa, texas, yes home of the friday night lights, but also to 16 year old high school basketball star, jerry joseph, you may have heard of of this district 2-5A newcomer of the year. well, coaches from dillard have heard of both of (them) and ... are you sitting down?... say they are the same person.

HWAAAT!?!?!?

same person? guerdy would now be 22. jerry boy is a 16 year old sophomore in high school. that is quite a stretch. but i do know some people who can't grow facial hair, six years wouldn't be to hard to pull. montimere's aau coaches in florida were at an aau tournament in arkansas, where the 16 year old "texan" was also playing. they called him guerdwich, and claimed he acted very strangely to that. one coach said he would bet his paycheck that jerry joseph and guerdwich montimere are one in the same.

i, frankly, find this story extremely hilarious. going up to someone and saying, "hey! you're name is guerdwich! you're 22!" guerdwich is such a ridiculous name. if someone called me that, i would punch them in the face. it's not funny. i don't blame the kid for changing to jerry joseph, if in fact, i believed they are the same person.

another kicker? u.s. immigrations actually looked into this. turns out this kid isn't guerdo after all, but he is haitian, and an illegal immigrant. now i don't know how the heck they found this out, i think it was fingerprints, i'm not gonna question the government, but this ordeal, just seems to get crazier by the minute. actually jerry, i'm not 16, i'm a horse.
apparently jerry was a survivor of a hurricane in haiti in 2008, and fled to florida. he then went to texas by greyhound, and is now living with the basketball coach in odessa, who is now his legal guardian. guerdwich's guardian? montimere was actually enrolled at highland community college, in freeport, illinois for a while, but left because he was doing very poorly in school. it must be tough being a manboy.
pending an immigration hearing, guery seinfeld is not jerry joseph. but jerry joseph is an illegal haitian immigrant. we will have to wait for the verdict... Finkle Is Einhorn! Joseph Is Montimere! Einhorn Is A Man! barf

finals finals finals finals finals finals. well, honestly i haven't had any yet. i have (3) tomorrow. one is just a meeting for my studio. also one on friday. ugh. then portfolio. dtb. down to business. lgdtb. lets get down to business. lgdtbtdth. let's get down to business, to defeat, the huns. you get where i'm going with this.
i'm so pumped that school is almost over. i've enjoyed sleeping in so far this week. i've also enjoyed not getting much work done this week as well. but not as much as not going to class.
and an early happy mother's day because i can't guarantee a blog, after today, so to all the mothers out there who read this blog, you know who you are, happy (pre)mother's day! and no my mother does not read my blog.

yea. dubloggin' it. if you haven't yet, read the previous post. this is my second today.
so i'm sure most of you people have heard what do you mean you people?!? i mean i'm sure everyone has heard about the bill they are passing in arizona about immigration and what not. i'm not gonna break down this bill or do i care to. not here, not now. now in blog form either. anyhow, peeps be protestin' they even protested outside a chicago cubs game. they are trying to boycott everything from arizona. including their baseball team, which isn't even in the state for 81 games of the year. wow... wow protesters. today, as blogged earlier, they were outside of the library. chanting things. causing ruckuses or rucki. i wanted to shout out "but what about arizona iced tea? it's only 99 cents!" but i wanted an acquaintance beside me to appreciate it. i thought it would've been funny though.
apparently there is a big deal about racial profiling illegal immigrant in arizona. and providing papers and what not. well as our darker skinned friend liz, was walking into the library, she passed this crowd of anti-arizonans. there were television cameras and a few people in the crowd noticed her coming and pointed her out. the camera came over and they asked her to sign the petition and be interviewed about her ancestors and what she thought about all this. if you and liz haven't met, she is not of spanish descent or anything. she is native american. navajo to be exact. talk about racial profiling! how hypocritical! even the protesters profiled her! they thought she was mexican and wanted her on their side! she just told them she wasn't mexican and they gave very awkward looks. how embarrassing for them. how stupid they must feel for doing what they are protesting against. what a huge LOL. why don't you go protest somewhere else, instead of in front of the library, during dead week, and in a place where you can't make stupid mistakes like that. really guys? get with the program. or protest it.

next week though, is finals. dunh! dunh dunnhh! scary. i'm definitely not ready. luckily all my finals are on thursday and friday, so i have time in the week to study, and take down lofts. (winks)
btw there is a big group of people protesting outside the library. this old woman has a megaphone and is rading something. every once in a while the crowd jeers and yells all at the same time. it feels like a staged protest. i didn't know people actually acted like they do in movies in protests. i think it is about the arizona immigration law or whatever. i guess they want illegal immigrants in our country. i don't know. i think i'm gonna go yell some things at them.

The Mayor/Dead weak (vol. II/vol. XXIV)

so many things to say today. for a change. i know right. i almost capitalized something.
our basketball team here at iowa state, hasn't been something to brag about lately. with four straight losing seasons and players leaving like the school has cooties, there hasn't been a real upside to the program. i mean it's no u of i, but it's not that good either. to have your coach leave as well, well that's just the cherry on top. luckily, iowa state has a.d. jamie pollard to make poor decisions. within hours of greg mcdermott confirming he's leaving isu, jp called the living legend of iowa state, ames high school, and ames, iowa itself, Fred Hoiberg. legends deserve capitalization.
he was rumored to be the next head coach, as i will tell you yes, he is the next head coach because i went to the press conference this morning. i was a little upset with jp because he took no time thinking this over. he immediately called "the mayor" and offered the job. fred has zero coaching experience, but has played for great nba coaches for 10 years. this is definitely nothing against fred, who is one of my favorite isu players, but i wasn't thrilled about this hire. thanks jamie pollard. after attending the press conference today though, i was sold. completely 100% support of our newest head coach Fred "The Mayor" Hoiberg. everything he said got me pumped up for next season. i was so excited. but i still don't approve of jamie pollard.
before the conference, i spoke with isaac about the hire. i wasn't too sure about it. matt and i got a great spot right in front of the jacobson building. started things off nicely. the place was pleasantly crowded and there was a huge applause for fred when he came out. i almost got goosebumps from his speech as i listened intently to his every word. it was so exciting.
afterwords i got a cool picture of jack trice, got to speak with coach v and coach downs, talked to mrs. hoiberg, fred's mom, or karen, cuz we're cool like that. she gave me a hug. also met up with AA. austen arnaud. nbd. led us around the football locker room. chatted it up nbd. drank some football team powerade. nbd. it seems to have extra hydration. i don't know, but it was good. then headed back to campus and to class. it was a good day.
i am thoroughly excited for the 2010-2011 iowa state basketball season. led by the one and only Fred Hoiberg. i am really excited to see what he is going to bring to the table and let's bring back Hilton Magic!

sittin' at the comp. eatin' a nutty bar. listening to some music. making a mixtape. just did my civil duty as a baseball fan. voted for the all-star game. of course i voted for cubs players. and no i didn't vote for the american league! i want to see my team in the all-star game. not yours. and yes i voted the allotted 25 times. just like i do every year.
finals are next week. unless i'm referring to next week as 'finals' then, finals is next week. i have a lot of stuff to do. a lot of stuff i need to prepare for next week. but i think i can handle it.
i just realized i spilled beef stew on my sweat pants, not cool. i don't really have much to say, i'm just bloggin' but this ain't no 'quiblog' this is real. i have time, just nothing to write about. remember to play the phone game. everybody

The Phone Game

ok so here is the phone game. a game to be played while with friends. friends with cell phones. at any designated time. an example would be during a movie. everyone does not touch their phone until the movie is over, and tallies their score. or while at work, while your phone is getting the break it deserves, in the back room. or any other time you would like some friendly competition. you may also play and include answering your phone or responding to texts, but then you take away the chance for a voicemail. it is your choice. text conversations do not count, only the first text. to begin tallying a new conversation, the last message must be completely unrelated to the previous one. ex.

Chad: sup

Troy: chillin, u?

...

Chad: yo i got herpes

this would count for two conversations, unless chad was only trying to tell troy he had the herps in the first place. in that case, it is left up to debate with your fellow competitors

i finished my serial section project on thursday morning. yep. i went to bed at 5:30. i got 6 hours of sleep in two days. that's not a lot for those who track my sleep schedule. when i went to studio on thursday, i was dizzy. but that quickly wore off and turned into a lack of sleep drunkenness. everybody else was high off no sleep too. it was pretty funny. we combined three studios and hung up all of our work throughout the king pavilion. tool project, tool layout drawing, space container, and serial section. then we had random professors come around and review our work. we were scheduled about 2 in the three hour span, so lots of time to mess around. my professor called it a salon style review. it was pretty fun actually. there were snacks our professors provided like oj, lemonade, popcorn, mini bagels, oranges, grapes, and hard boiled eggs. the lack of sleep was convincing me it was ok to keep eating the eggs. it seemed funny walking around eating hb'd eggs, but i couldn't stop! and i looked super snazzy too. did i wear a sweater vest? rhetor
then on to jimmy john's for customer appreciation day! $1 subs! boost to that. then i napped. thankfully.
as this week ends, finals loom around the corner. and so does my portfolio. the thing i have to throw all of my work into and some reviewer will glance at it for a few minutes to decide if i'm good enough. i really hate the thought of that. nah. i don't like his style. make him change majors...
i keep telling myself don't put it off like last year. but i probably will. at least i only need to make half a portfolio since i have my stuff already made. i hope i can finish it this time.
well after talking to isaac, he requested i post a movie list or something? i don't know he was watching transformers and got inspired. here are some movies i have been wanting to watch. we WILL watch these this summer, along with isaac's grocery list of movies he hasn't seen because he is sheltered. these are the only movies i can think of that i want to watch, but i am definitely open to throw in some more to add to the list. by the way, these are movies to be watched via movie party, preferably at missy's.
