apparently there is a big deal about racial profiling illegal immigrant in arizona. and providing papers and what not. well as our darker skinned friend liz, was walking into the library, she passed this crowd of anti-arizonans. there were television cameras and a few people in the crowd noticed her coming and pointed her out. the camera came over and they asked her to sign the petition and be interviewed about her ancestors and what she thought about all this. if you and liz haven't met, she is not of spanish descent or anything. she is native american. navajo to be exact. talk about racial profiling! how hypocritical! even the protesters profiled her! they thought she was mexican and wanted her on their side! she just told them she wasn't mexican and they gave very awkward looks. how embarrassing for them. how stupid they must feel for doing what they are protesting against. what a huge LOL. why don't you go protest somewhere else, instead of in front of the library, during dead week, and in a place where you can't make stupid mistakes like that. really guys? get with the program. or protest it.

dubblebubbleblog of awkwardness
yea. dubloggin' it. if you haven't yet, read the previous post. this is my second today.
so i'm sure most of you people have heard what do you mean you people?!? i mean i'm sure everyone has heard about the bill they are passing in arizona about immigration and what not. i'm not gonna break down this bill or do i care to. not here, not now. now in blog form either. anyhow, peeps be protestin' they even protested outside a chicago cubs game. they are trying to boycott everything from arizona. including their baseball team, which isn't even in the state for 81 games of the year. wow... wow protesters. today, as blogged earlier, they were outside of the library. chanting things. causing ruckuses or rucki. i wanted to shout out "but what about arizona iced tea? it's only 99 cents!" but i wanted an acquaintance beside me to appreciate it. i thought it would've been funny though.

all most dun wif skewl
today is friday, the end of the week,
do homework on the weekend, if you're a geek,
summer's right around the corner, so get ready to party,
but don't get traded to the twins like j.j. hardy (for carlos gomez)
mediocre
yea fridaaaaay. my com studies class just got done. early. all we did was do an extra credit in class. answered like 15 questions. wrote your john hancock at the top. bladow! three extra credit points. leave.
next week though, is finals. dunh! dunh dunnhh! scary. i'm definitely not ready. luckily all my finals are on thursday and friday, so i have time in the week to study, and take down lofts. (winks)
btw there is a big group of people protesting outside the library. this old woman has a megaphone and is rading something. every once in a while the crowd jeers and yells all at the same time. it feels like a staged protest. i didn't know people actually acted like they do in movies in protests. i think it is about the arizona immigration law or whatever. i guess they want illegal immigrants in our country. i don't know. i think i'm gonna go yell some things at them.
unboost for working tonight. i would rather make a fort.
i hope i don't fail finals like this team epicly does

The Mayor/Dead weak (vol. II/vol. XXIV)
so many things to say today. for a change. i know right. i almost capitalized something.
our basketball team here at iowa state, hasn't been something to brag about lately. with four straight losing seasons and players leaving like the school has cooties, there hasn't been a real upside to the program. i mean it's no u of i, but it's not that good either. to have your coach leave as well, well that's just the cherry on top. luckily, iowa state has a.d. jamie pollard to make poor decisions. within hours of greg mcdermott confirming he's leaving isu, jp called the living legend of iowa state, ames high school, and ames, iowa itself, Fred Hoiberg. legends deserve capitalization.
he was rumored to be the next head coach, as i will tell you yes, he is the next head coach because i went to the press conference this morning. i was a little upset with jp because he took no time thinking this over. he immediately called "the mayor" and offered the job. fred has zero coaching experience, but has played for great nba coaches for 10 years. this is definitely nothing against fred, who is one of my favorite isu players, but i wasn't thrilled about this hire. thanks jamie pollard. after attending the press conference today though, i was sold. completely 100% support of our newest head coach Fred "The Mayor" Hoiberg. everything he said got me pumped up for next season. i was so excited. but i still don't approve of jamie pollard.

before the conference, i spoke with isaac about the hire. i wasn't too sure about it. matt and i got a great spot right in front of the jacobson building. started things off nicely. the place was pleasantly crowded and there was a huge applause for fred when he came out. i almost got goosebumps from his speech as i listened intently to his every word. it was so exciting.
afterwords i got a cool picture of jack trice, got to speak with coach v and coach downs, talked to mrs. hoiberg, fred's mom, or karen, cuz we're cool like that. she gave me a hug. also met up with AA. austen arnaud. nbd. led us around the football locker room. chatted it up nbd. drank some football team powerade. nbd. it seems to have extra hydration. i don't know, but it was good. then headed back to campus and to class. it was a good day.
i am thoroughly excited for the 2010-2011 iowa state basketball season. led by the one and only Fred Hoiberg. i am really excited to see what he is going to bring to the table and let's bring back Hilton Magic!

sittin' at the comp. eatin' a nutty bar. listening to some music. making a mixtape. just did my civil duty as a baseball fan. voted for the all-star game. of course i voted for cubs players. and no i didn't vote for the american league! i want to see my team in the all-star game. not yours. and yes i voted the allotted 25 times. just like i do every year.
finals are next week. unless i'm referring to next week as 'finals' then, finals is next week. i have a lot of stuff to do. a lot of stuff i need to prepare for next week. but i think i can handle it.
i just realized i spilled beef stew on my sweat pants, not cool. i don't really have much to say, i'm just bloggin' but this ain't no 'quiblog' this is real. i have time, just nothing to write about. remember to play the phone game. everybody
miles' is bad don't worry

The Phone Game
ok so here is the phone game. a game to be played while with friends. friends with cell phones. at any designated time. an example would be during a movie. everyone does not touch their phone until the movie is over, and tallies their score. or while at work, while your phone is getting the break it deserves, in the back room. or any other time you would like some friendly competition. you may also play and include answering your phone or responding to texts, but then you take away the chance for a voicemail. it is your choice. text conversations do not count, only the first text. to begin tallying a new conversation, the last message must be completely unrelated to the previous one. ex.
how to score:
this scoring system may be altered upon a vote by the participants. rules subject to change
Chad: sup
Troy: chillin, u?
...Chad: yo i got herpes
this would count for two conversations, unless chad was only trying to tell troy he had the herps in the first place. in that case, it is left up to debate with your fellow competitorshow to score:
this scoring system may be altered upon a vote by the participants. rules subject to change

whew!
i finished my serial section project on thursday morning. yep. i went to bed at 5:30. i got 6 hours of sleep in two days. that's not a lot for those who track my sleep schedule. when i went to studio on thursday, i was dizzy. but that quickly wore off and turned into a lack of sleep drunkenness. everybody else was high off no sleep too. it was pretty funny. we combined three studios and hung up all of our work throughout the king pavilion. tool project, tool layout drawing, space container, and serial section. then we had random professors come around and review our work. we were scheduled about 2 in the three hour span, so lots of time to mess around. my professor called it a salon style review. it was pretty fun actually. there were snacks our professors provided like oj, lemonade, popcorn, mini bagels, oranges, grapes, and hard boiled eggs. the lack of sleep was convincing me it was ok to keep eating the eggs. it seemed funny walking around eating hb'd eggs, but i couldn't stop! and i looked super snazzy too. did i wear a sweater vest? rhetor
then on to jimmy john's for customer appreciation day! $1 subs! boost to that. then i napped. thankfully.
as this week ends, finals loom around the corner. and so does my portfolio. the thing i have to throw all of my work into and some reviewer will glance at it for a few minutes to decide if i'm good enough. i really hate the thought of that. nah. i don't like his style. make him change majors...
i keep telling myself don't put it off like last year. but i probably will. at least i only need to make half a portfolio since i have my stuff already made. i hope i can finish it this time.
well after talking to isaac, he requested i post a movie list or something? i don't know he was watching transformers and got inspired. here are some movies i have been wanting to watch. we WILL watch these this summer, along with isaac's grocery list of movies he hasn't seen because he is sheltered. these are the only movies i can think of that i want to watch, but i am definitely open to throw in some more to add to the list. by the way, these are movies to be watched via movie party, preferably at missy's.

mid weak (vol. XIII)
the michael jordan of mid weaks. that doesn't mean it's the greatest of all time... just the number... ok i'll stop
today the student alumni association at iowa state held a free barbecue on central campus. free to all saa members. free hickory park! free chips! free cookies! free lemonade! i renewed my membership and got my t shirt and discount card and key chain! for free! well, i'll be paying for it come august.
it was delish though. cory elonich (first blaaahg appearance) and matt and i all sat in the grass and ate our free grub. it was so nice out! it was so good since i hadn't eaten breakfast yet. i brought breakfast with me, but since there was free food i held off. it was also a big relief because i had just turned in a four page paper i wrote. i had never procrastinated this much before. it was about the film for history we had to go out of our way to watch. it was about this massacre in ireland in 1972 called bloody sunday. google it. anywho, after work last night, i went with kenyon to redeem some cans, made ten bucks, then i went home and should've started the paper. i didn't. i put it off for soo long. i've never procrastinated so bad before. i'm not gonna give out the time i started or finished but it was late/early. i actually busted that thing out like it was my job. pretty easy actually, i guess i could've finished it sooner. o well

back on my grind
back to school daze. back from veishea. back from a relatively bland week. didn't do much, but i did manage to hang out with my friends on the weekend. one thing i do enjoy about veishea is the food. o man it's like the state fair. overpriced deep fried goods. yum
i also went to nate staniforth the magician. it was cool because i have personally met him and took a magic class from him when i was in 6th grade. some of the stuff he did there was amazing and it wouldn't do it justice to try to exblogplain it. just here's an idea of some of his magic. he didn't perform this on friday night.
right afterwards was stevie starr the regurgitator. he was ridiculous. i couldn't believe the stuff i was seeing. and matt and i just watched him a few days before on jimmy fallon! it was really incredible to see and no one could figure out just what the heck was happening. he was really funny and raunchy, swearing up a storm. it was even more funnier because he was scottish.
saturday night they had the comedians, except they weren't at stephens auditorium like last year. it was in the great hall at the mu just like nate and stevie. it made it seem less legit and i didn't go see the comedians. i wanted to but i heard it was pretty bad. i blame ames high prom. shout out to seeing chuck ripley saturday night in his tux in campustown.
now i got to focus on school again and do work. it's almost summer and i feel like i have sophomoritis. i know that's not real but it just means i can't get into starting any of my homework. i just can't get into. milk on my upper lip.
i think i can pull through. 2 more weeks!

un witty title
so yea it's friday. hey folks, by the way i finished my paper. the hardest part was just beginning it, then it came pretty naturally. i took my mid-morning nap at the library and finished the last part before class. i didn't feel like staying up all night. well, got that covered. sigh of relief.
its veishea. i think i may have mentioned that before. i think the comedians are tonight. i think i'll actually attend a veishea event. i'm excited because i also don't work tonight. woot.
oh while watching baseball tonight, they had an in game update. they played their little sound and i immediately thought how sweet that would be to have that as your text message sound. i quickly found it online and sent it to my phone and matt's. we were boostin' i'm a genius. i also sent it to isaac. no response. that was two days ago. SARCASTIC YOUR WELCOME
well in light of some stress being lifted from finishing this paper and me also finding out that my serial sections aren't due until thursday (this will sadly make me procrastinate even more) i decided to post some things. midweakesque.

almost friday
well it deserves a second blog. the hypnotist show. veishea. didn't end up going. poor planning.
i haven't even tried any of the other events so far. which i find sad. i support veishea, but i don't support it in the way i attend things. i would also like to one day buy a button, these buttons cost five dollars and you get to eat lunch free all week on campus. the only thing is hundreds of people wait in line, and i have no time between classes. it would take forever and i've always wanted to go, but it would be a waste. my boy kenyon particpated in the 3-point shooting contest again this year. last year he was runner up to the one and only Diante DG $YM$ Garrett. which is kinda unfair because dg is on the isu basketball team. but, this year he didn't fare so well. they had to shoot with women's balls! whaaat? get 'em next year rk.
also today, i waited for my adviser again. 30 mins. sign on the door said, BRB. yeahno
and i left my phone at home so i couldn't texcomplain to anyone ( it's a combo of texplain and complain) so that sucked. i emailed her though. didn't get the answer though. wow.
in sadder news. last night they discovered the body of missing student jon lacina.
http://www.kcci.com/news/23157527/detail.html
my roommate knows the officer who discovered him. it's very sad, but i'm glad the lacina family finally has some closure.
recap: very lackluster blog

mid VEISHEA weak (vol. XXII)
ok it's mid weak and i should be boostin' for VEISHEA cuz it's here, but i'm not cuz i'm bogged with aych dub. (hw)(homework). i mean i am boostin' for VEISHEA but i still have that little sticky note stuck to my cerebellum that says, hey remember all that crap you have to do. so i can't fully enjoy all the festivities but there all a lot of them. i have to write a 5 page paper for friday, and also this serial section dealio. but that's not due until tuesday. i can waste my sunday and monday nights laboring over that. on tuesday, my professor was gone from studio and i had one of the most unproductive studios ever. everyone had their stuff out, got a little work done, and then we talked and listened to music mostly.then i went to see my adviser about a class. a note on her door said "meeting: back at 12" it was 11:50 and since i left studio early, i decided i would wait the extra 10 min. at 12:15 i decided enough was enough, i was bored as a rock, and my butt was falling asleep. luckily matt and rohlf, were going frolfing, i know rohlf rhymes with frolf. they picked me up outside the design building and as i was walking out, i see my adviser strolling in. i guess it was the design gods punishing me for not getting any work done.
i realize this has become a recap blog and i should've blogged about this earlier, but whatever you guys.
i had a test on monday, and i got the best score i've gotten all year. it was in music and those tests are hard. i also have to watch a film for history, and my professor is so full of himself we have to watch it outside of class because god forbid, he can't bless us with his useless knowledge. and for once would you end class on time! geez! that's another blog topic though.
so it's VEISHEA week right? and please people, spell it right.

TGIF
ohkay so fribloggin' here. i'm glad that is week is over, minus one class yet today. i had to make a space container for my design class. below i will attempt to describe said "space container"
using the pieces from our paper tool, yes the tool made from paper, we had to construct some sort of object... that contains space. kinda the most broadest project ever. i know right. yet again, no tape, glue, or anything other than weaving, stitching, or using tabs. i had a freakishly hard time stitching my hammer tool together, but i thought that's how i wanted to connect the pieces of the container. well, i hate stitching and i failed epicly. i gave up and used slots and just slid the pieces together. i kind of cheated because i made new holes, i dont kerr! unforgivable
we also had to imagine what it would be like to "travel" through our space container, imagine the experience. these projects are so lame, i hate them. i finally cranked it out and went to bed. lol
mine turned out to be very geometrical compared to others. mine kinda looks like a "holey" jar or something. everyone else's is like paper wrapped and looped. but now we have to draw the serial section. sorry no captain crunch.
imagine you were to draw a pepper. then cut a slice off that pepper and draw it again from the same vantage point. now do that 7 more times and you have a serial section. now do that with a paper space container, only you can't actually cut it. you have to examine it and decide what each "slice" would look like. kill me now.
this is going to be fun. well, at least it's friday.

oh hey thursday
ok this is just a free promo for how to train your dragon. cuz why? just cuz this movie is awesome
matt, missy and i all went to go see it on tuesday night? i think it was tuesday. don't correct me if i'm wrong. this movie has action, adventure, comedy, and it's in 3D! it had all the ingredients needed for a delicious movie. the visuals are sweet, the details are very realistic, and dragons. i've always had a thing for dragons, but not like in a sexually attracted type of way.
there wasn't a part in this movie i didn't enjoy, except for the part that i had to leave to go to the bathroom, i didn't get to enjoy that part, but i'm pretty sure i would've enjoyed it if i saw it. it was that good. the flying scenes are pretty breathtaking and the soundtrack is great. this movie will be loved by all viewers unless your a cynical movie critic, then leave your comments to yourself.
no, ya, i wondered about the whole nest thing too, but don't let that take away from the movie. ok? no. really? you didn't like it? come on, ok now you're just saying hurtful things stop.
that was me with an imaginary cynical movie critic who hated this movie. it was imaginary because everyone loved this movie! go see it! now! pay full price you cheap skates! it's worth it.
now, i know what you're thinking, and no, i'm not looking for a job in the movie review business. i'll leave that to boxofficeboredom.com
let's see what lonnie's sayin'

midweak (vol. XXI)
it's that time again. yes, it's midweak. sorry for the delay folks, even though my communication studies class was canceled again today (boost) i just felt like going home to eat. you know what i mean.
well it looks like another one of those times where i haven't blogged for a few days. and come to think of it, this is the best you're gonna get. i'll blog when i can. and really, bloggin' this summer may be a chore. i can't see myself doing that too often, but i will try. write that down. i will attempt to blog this summer. as of now, i've had other stuff going on, but i won't feel bad for not bloggin' no offense to those avid followers.
VEISHEA is next week can you believe that? i will be bloggin' about it because it's pretty cool and deserves some blog coverage, but i'll do that later. can't wait for that though. boost for veishea. google it if you don't know what it is. i can explain later. dibs on that
Videos Ho!
somebody call her parents!
i think you're thinking of a boat...
dad was waiting for this
this is why we watch the news

rainbloggin'
ya so it was 80 degrees yesterday. fine, fine day. now? thunderstorms. i don't really know what to say to the people who say "omg i'm like soo glad it's raining today!" hey remember when we all thought it was summer yesterday? ya, shorts? now this. how can you be happy about this gloomy miserable day? like i can't straigten my hair because all of the moisture in the air...
i can see how it's fun when it rains... during the summer, when it's been dry and humid for too long. but this is like, hey winter just ended, let's try out spring. except let's have a rain out. i realize that april showers bring may flowers, and mayflowers bring pilgrims, but don't tell me how happy you are about the rain, when we just got through a winter with 3x the average precipitation. so ya, not really in a good mood about the rain-makes-me-happy-today-go-lucky-dance-in-a-puddle-listenin'-to-that-new-song-by-train-soul-sister-run-around-outside-people right now.
in other news, it's been confirmed via text, there is a chance isaac may be returning to ames, this weekend, pending complications, todd mcshay reports.
if espn.com confirms this, we may have an epic night on our hands.
some not so concrete plans for tonight were, since a miracle happened and missy, liz, matt, and i all don't work tonight, we would have a spaghetti dinner. matt, i don't know if you knew about this, but we were also volunteered to buy meatballs and sauce, i think. afterwards, the plan was to all go to hot tub time machine, yea it looks stupid but it also looks funny. and if isaac came, well he would also pay for some of the food, and then we would HTTM it up (hot tub time machine) liz may or may not attend the viewing, but that's more reason for isaac to come back! hopefully you read this and will influence your return to this pleasant lil' town that misses you.
but don't be sayin' bra
