bingo bango

tues. just finished 2 finals. relieved
i didn't have a final monday. chill day. i am legend day. monday. night football day. slash night
anywho got my studying done, and i felt pretty confident. matt, even though we procrastinated way too much, i thought we were prepared. i pretty much flew through my history final. but its one of those finals that you have to know all the information yourself. you write essays. it's no fill in the blank. but i think it went well.
i almost didn't study for my listening final. cuz errthing was so frresh in muh brain. but i did anyway and i blazed through it. also found out i got 15 point extra credit. i wrote a paper that replaced my lowest grade score. boost
anyway, just a filler blog during finals week. i hope everyone's is going well. i have 5 finals this week. fml. but two are done so yea.
after finals is break! ahs vs waukegan (i have family in waukegan) this thursday! isaac's back! kelsey's back! errbody's back! break, break, break, break, break, break EVERY-BODY! break, break, break, break, break, break!
booooooooooooooooooooost!

final ly

so it's friday, that means the end of dead week. which is a pretty scary name for this week. i mean if by dead you mean nothing is different. then ya sure. i felt nothing different. only one of my classes did a review. then we talked about the final. i guess that requires a week to be not alive.
well following dead week, comes finals. oh dreaded finals. i hate you.
nobody likes them. especially when you have to remember the stuff you forgot at the beginning of the semester. ah finals. can't live with them, can't pass without them
i'm not entirely sure when all of my finals are, but i think i should find that out soon. finals are so stressful, but most of the time they aren't as hard as you think.
i find i always feel the need to get real close to my tests when i take them. like i have to lean over. then my back hurts. then i try to counteract that and sit back. but my back still hurts. i might try to twist and make my back crack and now i've become a distraction.
so this next week, i will focus on being comfortable throughout all of my finals. i will try. my instincts tell me that i need to inhale the paper though.
i'll try not to end up like this in my finals...

good luck everyone

seems forced

so i really don't have much to say today. we all barely survived the snowpocalypse the last couple days. my driveway Finally got plowed. and it was fun not going to class
well speaking of plowing, you would think that with all the tuition we pay here at iowa state, they could plow the rows in parking lots. YOU WOULD THINK. i was picking matt up at his dorm, and pulled into one, to turn around. got stuck. had to dig out. missed class. i need to be reimbursed for the money i paid for that class, and the gas i wasted trying to get out. this is ridiculous. i don't want to offend anyone but the only word i can think of is retarded. RETARDED. i'm mad. that was unnecessary. but i'm sorry it's unbelievable. iowa state you suck. wow i'm peeved about this.
anyway i didn't have anything really to blog about when i started and i don't want to rant on this subject. iowa state made me miss one of its classes that i paid for. that's it. screw that
wow. i was in a better mood earlier cuz i took a nap and had my last history class. not cool.
idk what to say now. so here you go.

dead weak

so this is dead week at iowa state. but since it's wednesday. i'm calling it dead weak. but since the blizzard came and went to town on ames' rear end, we don't have classes today! at iowa state they cancelled classes! i can only remember one time where they cancelled classes at isu, but i wasn't a student. this is groundbreaking. the theater closed early yesterday, and today we won't even open! its nuts! walnuts. macadamia
so i'm stuck in my house. got to go dig my way out like an ant if you pushed over the ant hill. but not as extreme. bad metaphor.
so i don't anyone else have cabin fever? i soo didn't want to write my two papers last night but i did. you can never bank on a university closing due to weather. i procrastinated last night like it was my job. but they are both done and now no class. i remember when ames high never used to close due to weather but ever since a bus slide threw a stop sign a couple years ago on an icy day, if it's below 33 degrees you might as well sleep in. but not that extreme. bad metaphor.
well snowed in blog. no class blog. well no school blog. mid weak blog. dead weak blog. overall feeling good blog.
watch us

close that

so this seems double blog worthy
this bliz is here, and it's takin' over. one city at a time
its crazy all up in ames. today i was shoveling the driveway to my apartment, which is what i pay for... hasn't been done yet, but its still snowing. anyway i shoveled the steps too, and by the time i was done shoveling, and going back down the stairs. i could have probably shoveled the stairs again. wow
so i was supposed to work today. liz was afraid of being snowed in so i brought an emergency stay alive kit just in case. as in turned out, we closed the theater early! i came in early to work so ashley could go home, cuz liz and i both live on that side of town. we be lookin' out for each other. alex didn't have to come in, and guess what... we closed before the 7 o clock round. a first! there was about 10 people the first round and when i came in, a few minutes later we got the ok to close. i called security at six and we acted like it was closing time. i shut down everything and made closed due to weather signs and hung them on the doors. i decided to be nice, and wished our customers a safe drive home.
weird thing is it felt like we were actually closing, but it was 6:30. it was just a ridiculous feeling. closing so early. some people came in, saw the sign and were like huh? and i'm like uh huh.
it's pretty miserable out there but i'm a pretty good winter driver i like to think. the only problem i had all day was trying to drive getting a start out of my driveway. and then no problems until i tried to pull into my parents driveway. i got stuck. had to get pushed. thank you friendly neighbors. otherwise no road problems. so have a good safe night everyone. put on your sweatpants. eat some warm food. i'll wake up tomorrow at six and hopefully go back to sleep.

because hopefully classes will be cancelled.

the girl next to me smells amazing

so its like really really snowing. and its projected to keep snowing. like blizzard like. and i'm nile, and the blizzard is coming.
so i saw this sign on campus today and laughed. the united way just gave up. and i think the "thank you" sounded a little bit sarcastic, if you know what i mean...

anyhoot, i decided i would talk about whistling, since its dead week, and after this storm comes-a-blowin' we will pretty much me dead. btw i work tonight, when the storm comes-a-blowin' i might have to sleep at the theater...
so whistling. it's like one of those things that the longer you think about, the weirder it seems. like, the longer you stare at a certain word, the more sense it doesn't make. like gauge, pronounced "gage"
so how do we know how to whistle? supposedly you just put your lips together and blow. well that just makes like a farting noise. some people can't whistle. but how did those people find out who can? its hard to think about. it's just something that you learn. i don't know if you can remember when you learned to whistle. unless it was like last month or something. but just think about this, if i suggested the tune of the flintstones, could you whistle that? go ahead.
...
yea that's it. but if you didn't really whistle the tune while reading this, i'll give you another chance
...
k? good? alright. how do we know where to move our lips to make a different pitch? that's like crazy! i bet if you listened to a song that you never heard you could whistle along with it. how do we figure out how to whistle these notes? well, i have a friend who thinks he can whistle but it all sounds like the same note. you loooove the monotone whistle.
whistling is very weird when you think about it. blowing air through your mouth to make a different pitch. and we can control the pitches too. i guess its like learning to play the trumpet or something. idk i thought about it too much and now whistling seems like a crazy thing. like if you read this post saying hwistle.

don't die

so i was giving plasma the other day, and i was in the Gold section. i was was waiting for a giant needle to be stuck into my arm, and i noticed the sign hanging from the ceiling faced the other direction. so i saw it from behind. i took this as a sign... to blog
so lets just talk...
this weekend matt and i drove to iowa city to pick up isaac. we had a fun road trip. on the way back we stopped in the williamsburg at the gap outlet. i got my gap jacket. now the trio is complete. we also all got glass coke cups from mcdonalds. they are soo cool. we all hung out that weekend and had a good time. also iowa state is also going to the insight bowl! that's so awesome! i can't believe they beat out missouri for that one. it's going to be in tempe, arizona on new year's eve. i'm not sure if i am going to that yet. we will have to wait and see.
this week is dead week here at iowa state. the week before finals week. the week before the week before break. boost. except we have to take finals first. i am really only worried about one of my classes for finals, and that's history. i just don't get along with that class very well. idk it's just a boring lecture too. but gotta get that studying in so we will see how it goes.
if you have never had dead week, it's really nothing to worry about. the only thing that really affects you is that you can't blast your music in your dorm and groups can't meet on campus. that's pretty much it. the rest is basically reviewing in your classes. no big deal. and if you get a professor who gives an assignment during dead week. well then wow... wow them.
so that's pretty much it. um, i mean just an informal informative blog today. not trying to do anything fancy here. just here to speak, i guess. so you have a good day, i guess.
well one more thing, on campus there were some christmas carolers singing outside the library, i thought it was really nice. i put a quarter on the cement in front of them and they all started laughing, some even stopped singing completely. i thought it was funny too

rant

long awaited blog about student tickets.
so here is my thesis statement. Never purchase students tickets.

so this year, i wanted to be a part of iowa state university's student section. so i purchased student tickets. i bought student tickets for football and for basketball. i bought them at the same time and i got a free cy's pass, which gets me into all women's basketball, volleyball, soccer, and wrestling games. pretty good deal, but let's face it, i don't really go to women's basketball games. volleyball though. whew!
now here is where things get dirty. when the basketball student tickets became available i went to go pick them up at the ticket office. everything was fine, until i noticed a blip on my tickets. there were six tickets labeled, "not a valid ticket" when i saw this i was like "WHAAAT?" i went back to the ticket office and demanded an explanation.
explanation is as follows: students who purchase student tickets are not given tickets to those home games, which fall on dates over breaks. being that isu is not in session during those times, students will not be admitted with student tickets.
well i am a student. i am from ames. i'm not going "home" over break. i am a huge iowa state fan, and i want to go to those home games that i paid for. i was told that these tickets are sold to other fans during break. for the student section. which is open seating. they sell our seats.
let me break down the logistics...
student tickets cost $125. as i have realized. these student tickets, allow you inside the building. these tickets do not get you a seat. you see, to have a seat, you have to be a part of cyclone alley. to be a part of cyclone alley, you need to have a tshirt, and to get a tshirt you need to be in the student alumni association. to be a part of the SAA, you need to pay $30. you also get a discount on a bunch of things, but you need the shirt to sit. $125 to get in the building, $30 to sit down. but you miss out on six home games. i asked, how much would it cost to buy tickets to those home games? $15. Let's do some math. $15 x 6 home games not included with my student tickets. that equals... let me pull out my asian... $90! wait, what's that over there? on the floor! there! oh! season tickets for $99? that only $9 more than six games! and what? you get to go to all of the games?
i could buy season tickets for $99 and go to all the games. i can also get into cyclone alley for $30. they don't check tickets to get into the student section. they check to see if you are wearing your shirt. if i wanted to go to all the games i would pay for my student tickets: $125. my tshirt: $30. those six home games: $90. asian where'd you go?... that's $245.
you would think that a student ticket would benefit the student somehow. nothing is included with the purchase of a student ticket. the shirt is separate. the girl at the ticket office tried to justify me paying that much because the people at the same level have to pay $400 for their tickets. i don't care if they pay with their children, i want to go to all of the games! i argued with her at the office. probably made a scene. i argued with an old lady usher at one of the games. probably raised her heart pressure to dangerous levels. i'm arguing with people that have no control with this. to those people, i apologize. now, finally bloggin' about it, i think i feel better.
on a lighter note, you can purchase upper level tickets for $10 over break. i did, and i attended both games. during the game, since, NO ONE is there, they invite those people to come down INTO THE STUDENT SECTION, where i SHOULD be sitting. i argued with this guy, why i couldn't go down until they announced it. why wouldn't i be able to sit in the completely empty student section. i frickin' paid to sit there, i don't want to wait for an announcement!
oh and another thing. they kept promoting this 4-pack deal where you get a hot dog and a drink with your ticket for $11.50 each. frickin not advertising it's only available via online order. frickin' wow... wow iowa state athletic department.
i'm never going to buy student tickets again. you can save so much money with season tickets. and go to all the games! this is true for football too! and don't tell me how iowa student tickets are cheaper. it's cuz the football team is going to have more wins than the basketball team.
conclusion: Never purchase student tickets.
notice how i didn't post any videos? lol jk

mid weak

so today is wednesday. mid weak as we know it here at blaaahg! so for mid weak i thought i would mix things up a bit and go with the right alignment. just for mid weak...
coming up soon is finals and even though is ridiculously stressful i'm happy they are soon. that means it's almost winter break. i like the in between time of thanksgiving and winter break. you know break is imminent. i'm gonna miss this schedule though. i still have to work out the kinks for next semester.
i'd also like to bring up something that has been grinding my gears like the giant of the beanstalk does to bones to make his bread... excessive amounts of video posting on blogs. yes its fun to share videos, but this is not ebalmsworld. if you want to share a video go ahead, but if that's it, i'm not even gonna watch it. get a vlog. it's not youtube. if you want to share a video, post it on your facebook. i want to know your "THOUGHTS" or what's going on in your "LIFE" not a video that you have an inside joke with your friend. now i'm not trying to be hypocritical here because i also post videos. this is mid weak. but, have a higher standard. embed and log off. not cool. remember to actually blog here, on your blog. or whatever. do what you what. you know my opinion.

videos, but i blogged, so they are ok

let me tell you what i think...

let me tell you what i think...
today i was really really tired. my sleep schedule is soo messed up and i haven't been able to get a good night's sleep since break ended. today, in my art history class, i was fairly certain i was just going to relaax and nap it out. to my surprise/pleasure we were watching a film today. booost. something about buddha. slept through that. i've developed the sleeping sitting up technique pretty well. i think this was because while taking music 102 last year, listening to music in class first thing in the morning is not good for waking you up. i got pretty good at sitting up and falling asleep.
BUT! gilman hall is where my art history class is. i'll finish this thought in a bit. after the movie i was awoken by the person next to me. thanks david. we were filling out the course evaluation sheets that you fill out at the end of semester to express your thoughts of the class. now i thought this class was boring. but i did end up learning stuff. i found myself pointing out things i learned, ex. architecture on buildings in movies and whatnot. eh still a very boring class. why do you think i was planning on sleeping during it?
so this class is in gilman hall, as stated earlier, what a terrible auditorium. its actually a chemistry lecture hall, but we cram 250 art students in there to look at slides of pottery. booorrring. fog horn. boooorrring. not like digging a hole in the ground. the seats are terrible too. they are mounted to the floor. the desks are ridiculously close together. it gets so hot in there. i feel like i am rubbing shoulders with the person next to me. i can't sit comfortably there. but my expertise in sit sleeping allows me to sleep anyways. but my chair still hurt my butt. it's also too dark to take notes in there. it's also dirty and there's this loud sound that pounds in the back of class everyday. i don't know if it's a door slamming our two walruses jack-hammering a concrete sculpture of jeff goldblum. seriously this place sucks. and i let them know what i thought about it. the class... not great but not bad. the classroom... hated it. there was a sheet to write your thoughts. and i filled it up ranting about the badness. some people threw it away and some people drew pictures and turned them in. i let gilman have it. sorry gilman. you need a make over.
let me tell you what i think...
what has happened to thoughts of isaac o. strohman. i'm not seeing any thoughts anymore. i thought there were supposed to be thoughts. case in point, tired tuesday. ya don't be telling me about spell check.

poison

trash clock says, "it's time to take out the trash!"
ok i found that this morning on campus. soon afterwards it was gone. now that we got that out of the way...
so i was pretty sure there was a mouse in my apartment for a while. i would be in the kitchen and, using my periphs, see a dark something "scurry" into the corner. only mice scurry so that should have given it away right? then once i had people over, i walked into the kitchen and i saw it and it jumped and i was like yo! but i didn't say there was a mouse cuz it's kind of embarrassing. that was during a pspsp. then over break i was picking up something from my room. AND IT WAS IN THERE. it was in my closet and scurried around my bed. i was pissed off. but the other day my roommate told me it was found dead. i'm not into killing animals but i'm glad this thing is not chilling in my apartment anymore. so ya. good riddance!
speaking of dead animals. here is my birthday dinner from red lobster. i ate the whole thing. and half of a lobster pizza. i hadn't been more stuffed since these kids were in this makeshift cuban school bus.
ya its also a fish truck.

but i haven't been this scared since i was mugged by gene shalet

btw i just watched this video this morning, not even realizing it was just uploaded hours before. showing exactly what i was looking for. how serendipitous

breakend

wow... wow to myself for not bloggin' over break. i really honestly meant to. i like having a goal of trying to blog each day, well not on the weekends. we've been over that. disappointed in myself for not blogging. isaac did and good for him.
well i will wrap up break i guess.
NOW
so break was sweet. um isaac came to town. we tore it up. i'm glad we got to hang with the gang. rhyme intended. speaking of rhymes, matt, jon kaiser (jon kaiser has never been mentioned in my blog before so i thought i would mention his full name so you would know who i'm talking about. facebook him. what up jon), and isaac hung out at walmart rapping to this sick beat from a small electronic guitar toy. if you could call it rapping. anyway before that we went to both isu home games WHICH I WILL BLOG ABOUT SOONER OR LATER. probably later judging by how long its taken me to blog about anything really. so ya hung out. wii parties. tried to play guitar hero. black friday at jordan creek. didn't buy anything. almost a gap jacket though.
guys i feel like i want to be a closer crew. i will definitely be buying one as soon they go on sale again. also it was my birthday. some gifts you just can't get. at this moment i can't think of what else we did over break. but we stayed up late and watched movies too! i think that's what we did so ya
ok since i missed midweak i want to post some videos right now. and isaac I'm sorry for not wanting you to watch a video. i can't claim the rights to any video on the internet that i didn't create. so go ahead and watch whatever you want. that's dumb of me to try and hold you back. i apologize isaac. but now you can watch it and i'll never withhold you from one again without proper cause.
so here you go
late midweak slash end of break section of videos

and now for you isaac...

Break minus 1 (for some)

soo it's friday. and my last class of the day... we don't have it! we got it off! yo teach! thanks.
so that means i'm on break, so i'd like to address this issue.
i made a new top image a few days ago and no one said anything about. you had to have noticed it. please tell me what you think because i'm proud of it. i made it myself.
well. i will admit it. i saw the new twilight movie New Moon, last night slash this morning. 12:03 showing to be exact. it was kind of like a theater party. liz, missy, and matt, and i all went. we missed you isaac but i repped that shirt.
i am not a fan of twilight. but i was forced to watch the first one on wednesday so i knew what was going on. these are not great movies at all. i felt that new moon had an over abundance of shirtless boys. and the girls in the theater were going crazy! something about twilight really gets girls going. i don't know why. there were soo many people waiting at the theater. i had to work and it seemed like it took forever to get off. all in all i wasn't "displeased" with the movie. it was "alright." there were lots of times where i was bored. i knew this was a girl movie.
even after the show, people were lining up for the 3 o clock showings. ya showings, ya two showings at 3 am. yikes! i'm not gonna try to decipher the magic powers twilight has over girls but it was crazy
anyway it's break now! i'm done! woooooot boooooost epiiiiiiic (high five)
isaac get here
this vid makes me question the credibility of the others. which is disappointing cuz this like made my summer
so here's something completely different
but its a freakout

thursday is almost friday is almost break

so today is thursday and i'm here to say
i'm bloggin' bout things in a different way
the week is slow and i don't wanna wait
cuz thanksgiving break is really great!

so the other day i was watchin' tv
a girl walked to the door to try and talk to me
she was our neighbor from upstairs
she wears glasses and had a leaf in her hairs

she asked to use our internet
i told her the password i couldn't get
why she wanted to use it, i didn't know why
but don't be stealin' my wi-fi

oh wait, she said why she wanted to use it
but she promised she wouldn't abuse it
i asked my roommate cuz i wasn't sure
she said, "no way! they tried this befure"

so i denied my neighbor my internet
this was something i won't regret
she said she would pay but i didn't care
i don't know her that well

and i might as well post the remix

mid weak

hey. it's almost thanksgiving break.
thanks.
you're welcome.
this week is going by slowly. i don't really have much to say.
lets go over some pros and cons

Pros
  • Thanksgiving Break
  • No class
  • Turkey
  • Football
  • Sweatpants
  • No class
  • sleeping in
  • desserts
  • returning home
  • family
  • time and a half
  • no class

Cons

  • going back to class after break
  • sleeping away the entire day
  • finals are soon
  • cold
  • not getting the wishbone
  • not being able to get into home isu basketball games
  • that's another blog

obviously the pros outweigh the cons so this break should be good! have fun

vote!

i changed the layout from right side to left side.
if you like boost it. dislike lame it.

slooow mooooshuuuun

uggggh. this weekend is thanksgiving break. boost. but this week is taking forever! all the excitement is making each day move sooooo slow. but i have found ways around it. if you stay up reaaaly late each night, it makes the days run together. the more you do, the more you forget which day is which. you get confused and then realize the week is over!
btw, i've realized that a few posts ago i said coming soon... and blah blah blah. ya i haven't blogged about any of those things lol. there are "coming soon" if you catch my drift. by drift i mean that eventually they will be blogged. oh yes, they will be blogged.
so ya i guess its cold season. missy and i have just gotten over taking care of liz. she was really sick and we spent the last week hanging out and doing things for her. it was surprisingly so much fun! i kinda wish that she was still sick so we could take care of her. no offense liz, i don't wish pain on you, i just had fun hanging out at missy's a lot. i'm sure you understand.
i'm not saying i'm sick or anything, cuz i'm not! i've just been thinking about sneezes. ya i know random. people sneeze differently. some people have loud deep sneezes. some short high pitched. like a cat. some have a sneeze attack. like multiple sneezes. sneezi is the correct terminology i believe. my dad gets a series of really loud, almost scary, sneezes. and it gets annoying and disruptive. i knew this guy that actually said ACHOOEY! i think that i've noticed that when most people sneeze, they sneeze in pairs. so if you like to bless someone after they sneeze, then you need to make sure you wait for the follow up sneeze. saying bless you twice is kinda weird.
recently i've noticed that i have been sneezing just once. not twice. one more than not sneezing though. but not twice. where has my second sneeze gone?!? usually i sneeze twice, but not these last handful of sneezes. no gross pun intended.
anyway if you are waiting for me to sneeze to bless me, you don't have to wait for my second sneeze, because somewhere i lost it! sneezing feels good
i thought about not adding a picture of someone sneezing cuz it can be kinda gross, but it looks boring without one. your welcome.

oh and one more thing. be bowling

oh my god! i swear as i was writing this in a computer lab on campus the girl across from me sneezed three times. it was so high pitched! it sound like a mouse was saying "chew!" CRAZY

be bowling

yup. we're going bowling.

so i changed the image at the top of the page. i don't know i mean i like the cyclone nation but that seems like it would fit more for a sports blog. i know we are used to it now so it will seem different, if you don't like it let me know. i will change it back. but if you have any suggestions for the top image. shoot em at me.

so ya. isu has six wins this year. that means we are bowl eligible. i'm not too worried about being able to get a bowl. even if we don't beat missouri next week. isu always travels well and the bowl selection committee knows that. they will make money wherever they go. and i will be going with them. and there are a bunch of conferences with non bowl eligible teams. we'll make it to one. hopefully some place warm. it was an awesome game on saturday. the cyclones won 17-10 with colorado's touchdown in the fourth quarter. isu had some great plays. it was a fun game. missy came to her second game in her isu career. when we won, the students rushed the field. it was awesome
now if you iowa fans (justin) want to talk crap about isu rushing the field, shut up. i seem to remember the hawkettes rushing the field against lowly unranked michigan. so don't. ya shut up
anyway, bowl eligible fun time. awesome time. this weekend was pretty good too.
so just to have some fun, here are some pictures found on google street view. google fails. i guess google sees everything...

didn't stop to help

there's waldo!

van on fire. not the denzel movie

aww yea

uhh sir?

google kills a deer. Results 1 - 10 of about 405,000 for google kills a deer. (0.14 seconds)

UNC

so i gots blogs, but i don't gots times.
seriously i donts. buts theys comin. soons. so if you are expecting me to blog about something i don't know what to tell you except wait, i'm not making time for you! sorry

well i guess i will blog about harrison barnes.
if you haven't heard about Harrison Barnes, then you've been living underneath a very large rock that probably doesn't have any internet connection. basically, he's ONLY the number one, best frickin' player in the nation. no big deal. and he goes to Ames High School!!! ya the best player in high school goes to the same high school i went to. i've given him rides home in my car, but i don't want to brag
he's been the most recruited player for the last two years and on friday he finally made his decision. he's going to the University of North Carolina. and can you blame him? they won the national championship last year!!! so yep that's where he's going.
iowa state was the first to offer him a scholarship and he is from ames. a lot of people, like me wanted him to come to iowa state. he would be the next fred hoiberg. yes it was disappointing but i'm not mad at him. on friday there were tons of people packing the ames high gym to see his decision. espn was there as well as all the local news. it was a big event. lots of iowa state fans too. but some left right after he said he was going to NC. i thought that was disrespectul. on the radio some people were mad at HB. they said he shouldn't have let iowa state think they had a chance for so long. i disagree. how can you be mad at him? i will support him wherever he goes. he's going to be on national television! he will be in the NBA in a few years! i am so proud to say that i went to the same high school and that i know him personally.
anyway, Harrison, i'm glad that you will be following your dream of playing basketball. It would have been fun to see you play for Iowa State, but I will cheer you on no matter what as you grow and excel as a basketball player at North Carolina. I wish you the best of luck and hope you do great things.

so again, i have been putting off this nebraska blog for way too long now. but i mean, its about lincoln, nebraska for crying out loud! anyway its wednesday so quit worrying! ... about it!

so tomorrow is thursday. i just learned how to read a calender. missy and i have started a tradition on thursdays. for the past three weeks, i think, we have watched it's always sunny in philadelphia together. which is a great show if you haven't seen it. check it out. we also eat pizza! and wear sweatpants. we call it our Pizza SweatPants Sunny Party. or PSPSP. its a good time. hopefully that will happen tomorrow but there is an extra credit thingy for journalism. its a discussion about an ISU student making a documentary of a band with a guy who has stage 4 leukemia. matt and i are going. and missy too! i dvr'd sunny so we can watch it afterwards. matt joined us last week and so did liz, but she didn't wear sweatpants.

ok enough bloggin' here's what you ingluorious basterds really want.

temporarily out of business? (NTFL)

soo, i'm not bloggin' at the library. nope. i'm bloggin' at home. my parents' house. ya today i was bloggin' about the nebraska game and then my internet went down. in lieu of my recent computer problems, i decided not to mess with anything. not a computer problem but a internet problem. it should be fixed by tomorrow.
and really, i don't want to be bloggin' at the library. i really do like their keyboards though. hopefully i dont have to FTL my blogs anymore. unless i'm chillin' there and i'm having a blogstorm. just know that i have the ability to not blog at the library.
i'll blog about the game tomorrow. hopefully. started it. couldn't finish. make up blog.

instead i leave you with this turkish ice cream man

back in business (NFTL)

NTFL. not from the library. folks i got my computer back. BOOOOOOOOOOOOST!!!!
back to bloggin' in the apt. runnin that young windows 7 too. flashy and fun.
feelin' good. got a lot of catsup (ketchup) (catching up) to do. i feel like i should just blog for hours with stuff i've missed but i'll just let the blogs flow as they come. i've missed this. being able to have a computer of my own. addicted really, that's how i would describe it. everyone is. and i invite, no i DARE you to try to not have a computer. please. know how i felt. not being able to check your facebook, fantasy football, email, or watch videos. basically cut your free time in half. then you would know what happened to me. try to only use the computer after your classes at the library. don't use your personal computer.
looking back i feel refreshed. like a tall glass of ice water on a hot summer day. not always being on the computer felt good sometimes. i wanted to be online, but i couldn't.
it's an interesting feeling being back. but i like it. one thing i've missed. Listening To My Music!
no music guys. it sucked. i'm glad to have it back. (shudders)
well this post is just an update that the blogs will return in full. bloggin' when i can. return of mid weak. and yes posting some videos. so much to blog about. it's good to be back.

Coming Soon:
  • The ISU/NEB game
  • Whistling
  • Student Tickets
  • Vids
  • whatever else pops into my head
can't wait.

messin round

so i've been messin round with stuff here on the blog. i put that ratings box, but i have no idea how that thing works. you can vote on posts now. wow... wow. lame or boost. tell me if there is another button of emotion you feel.

test?

what a ritard (FTL)

so it is hard to make time to come into the library. especially to blog. i want to but i can't always get here. that also means i don't get to check my email, facebook, fantasy etc... i've been strugglin' so no mid weak. i didn't even find any epic videos. they probably would have been disappointing anyway but i didn't have time to come in. it's probably for the best
blog
today after class i went with liz to get tickets to the wizard of oz coming to stephens auditorium. she needed my id to get two student tickets for her and her mom. her lil sis is going. they should have a good time. we walked from campus cuz it was such a frickin beautiful day today!!! if you spent today indoors wow to you. the high tomorrow is 67 so do something. if i had my way it would be bloggin' (FOTL) from outside the library cuz its so nice. but if i had my way i would have a computer and would probably be a home.
anyway, what was i saying? oh yeah, its nice out. i thought it would be funny for someone to type exactly what they were thinking. you know, forgetting what they were saying but typing it? anyway... i think that is slightly hilarious. like typing umms, you can think before you type it lol
back to the story, it is b e a utiful outside and we walked to stephens, inside at the ticket office we were conversing with the lady, and then i heard a loud BOOM! (onomatopoeia) it sounded like the paperboy throwing the paper against your front door, but amplified. and i guess it depends on your door, and the paperboy.
we all turned around to see what made the startling noise and it was a bird! a friggin' bird flew into the big wall of windows in front of the ticket office. it wasn't just a bird though, it was a hawk. and it must have been a tiger hawk because it flew head first into the tinted glass. it was twitching and freaking out on the ground. i wow wowed that thing. the ladies in the booth all came to look and one of them said an owl did the same thing on the other side of the building. unbelievable.
point of the story is today was BUUUtiful and tiger hawks are ritards.

epic (FTL)

so this weekend was halloween. i did dress up as stepbrothers with isaac and i did go to iowa city. but i came back!
so the original plan was to spend the halloweekend in iowa city with my boy stro
but later in the week we decided it would be fun to come back and surprise everyone. i drove down on saturday and then back to ames that night. it was fun but it was soooo hard to "lie" to everyone that i would be gone. it was suggested to me that i should go and bring back isaac for halloween. all i could say was naah i wouldn't do that LOL! the only person i told was erica because she asked for a ride to iowa city. i had to tell her the reason i couldn't bring her back. she kept it a secret. thanks erica. isaac and i "chilled like bras" at his dorm and i his cool roommate and his cool friend. we watched college football and ate dinner. then we headed for a-town.
sorry isaac but you don't give the best directions. i would have rather gone my way then to drive 20 mins the wrong way. maybe next time
when we came back to ames i had an adrenaline rush. nobody knew we were in town. we were like halloween ninjas. a backup plan in case the stepbrothers idea fell through. it was exciting "hiding" in ames. i had never been in ames with no one expecting me there. it was a weird/awesome feeling.
when we showed up at the halloween party, we got the reaction we were looking for. it was epic. our friends were excited to see us and that made it for us. it was such a good time. i'm glad we made the trip back and didn't mind driving one bit. it was totally worth it.

another quiche please? (FTL)

another thought. if you ever want a new experience while walking somewhere, try to avoid looking at your shoes. don't look at them whenever possible unless you are tippytoeing around puddles or someone's feelings. it gives you a different view of things. you can notice a lot more of your surroundings i feel. it also makes me feel better. especially when on rainy days, like today, when everyone is looking down anyway. notice your surroundings, make friendly eye contact with someone new, enjoy yourself.
vitamin water. try it.

quiche (pronounced quicky) (FTL)

so i'm gonna blog about the epic isu vs. nebraska game pretty soon. and post some epic pictures. it was an epic win. 9-7 epic. but i dont have a lot of time before i go to work so here is a thought.

coffee shop blogs are lame
