Call Me! oh wait, i don't know your number

matt referenced me bloggin' about phone numbers earlier. well actually i didn't, we just talked about it. so here i go.
remember those days where everyone lived at home with their parents and had home phone numbers? the days of sneaking out of the house during a sleep over to light fireworks and riding bikes to the mall. good frickin times. but you also remember your friends home phone number. you knew how you could reach them. or you could leave a message with their mom.
nowadays we all got cell phones. and when you meet someone new and get their number, you put it in your phone. you don't have to memorize it. and now if someone asks you what that number is, you have to look in your contacts because you don't know it. remember the days where people actually used their brains to remember things? now you can write anything down to remind you. but this is mostly about phone numbers but this subject could go on and on.
we are so dependent on technology that we don't use our brains as much anymore. its weird. idk if you've ever seen the movie Idiocracy but think about it.
i used to know all of my friends home phone numbers. i still do remember some. but how many of your friends phone numbers do you know? so you know your home number, maybe your parent's cell phones, maybe a few of your friends, or at least people with really easy numbers. the fact is that the cell phone numbers you use most often, you don't remember. they are in your phone and scrolling through your contacts is as much work as you should do to know the number. it's kinda sad.
i know like 7 cell numbers that i use today. i'm ashamed.

  1. ryan mcgowans home number was 232-2362, ya ik what u mean. but frankly, i like the new way. its a change for the better. now we dont have to put the effort into looking up friends numbers in the phone book and trying to memorize/keep track of it. now we just have everyones number without memorizing, and if we really need it, we can just whip out our phone and check it. Its easier to have more peoples numbers now..thank u technology

  2. Without looking at my phone... I know Isaacs is xxx-1034 (x's so no one can no one can steal his number off your highly read blog). I know natties is xxx-9163, and I know far too many corrporate office people's number by heart. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you what number any of my family members cell phones are. I think I am a little better off than you but still very very ashamed as well.
